Code P0DED: Pedestrian Alert Control Module Circuit/Open

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0DED sets when the pedestrian alert (acoustic vehicle alerting system) control module fails an internal self-test or loses communication on its network segment — the module that generates the low-speed exterior sound required by pedestrian-safety regulations. The most common physical causes are a corroded or loose power/ground connection at the module, a chafed wiring segment or failed terminating resistor on its communication bus, and an internal module hardware failure. Because this module has no drivability function, a fault here typically presents only as a missing exterior alert sound rather than any change in how the vehicle drives.
