Code P2104: Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Idle
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
P2104 (Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced Idle) is a protective-strategy code the ECM sets when it forces idle speed, limited RPM, reduced power, or a shutdown because it has lost confidence in the electronic throttle system, not because this code itself identifies the broken part. The trigger is almost always a separate throttle motor, position sensor, or pedal sensor fault already stored alongside it, so diagnosis starts with the other pending or stored throttle-related codes rather than the throttle body itself.
