Code P2583: Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor Single Sensor or Center
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2583 (Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor Single Sensor or Center) sets when the adaptive cruise control module reports a fault in one of its forward distance-ranging sensors (center, left, or right radar/lidar unit) used to measure the gap to the vehicle ahead. Causes are a sensor face obstructed by ice, mud, or a misaligned license-plate accessory, a bracket knocked out of alignment by a minor front-end impact, or a corroded connector behind the fascia.
