System: Powertrain (P-Code)
SAE Standard (Generic)
Family: PTO Output Control Circuit
Code P260C: PTO Control Circuit High
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P260C (PTO Control Circuit High) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to voltage on the output driver circuit it uses to command power take-off engagement hardware, distinct from the driver's enable switch input or the engagement-status sense circuit. Causes are a failed PTO engagement solenoid or relay coil, a corroded connector at the transmission-mounted PTO unit, or chafed output wiring in the chassis harness.
