System: Powertrain (P-Code)
SAE Standard (Generic)
Family: Hybrid Battery Coolant Leak
Code P2DFC: Hybrid/EV Battery Coolant Leak Detected
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2DFC (Hybrid/EV Battery Coolant Leak Detected) sets when the HV battery pack's coolant-loop level or pressure monitor detects fluid loss beyond the system's normal top-off allowance. Because a coolant leak inside the pack enclosure is a safety-relevant condition near the battery's high-voltage components, the ECM flags this early. Causes are a degraded hose or fitting in the pack's coolant loop, a failed seal at the coolant manifold, or a cracked coolant reservoir.
