Active Air Dam Actuator Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code C0601 (Active Air Dam Control Circuit/Open) sets when the module cannot drive the active air dam (front air curtain/spoiler) actuator motor to its commanded raised or lowered position for aerodynamic efficiency, or the actuator's supply voltage circuit reads outside range, or the actuator is mechanically stuck. Because this component is mounted low at the front of the vehicle, the most common causes are road debris or ice jamming the mechanism, a corroded connector from road spray exposure, or a worn actuator motor. A stuck air dam can also drag on speed bumps or steep driveways, so a visual inspection for physical obstruction should come before any electrical diagnosis.

These 7 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 7 times.
