Code P2C80 (AIR System Pump Overspeed Bank 1) sets when the secondary air injection pump on the named bank spins faster than commanded, runs hotter than its thermal limit, or reports a supply voltage fault - distinct from the simple stuck-on/stuck-off codes for the same pump. A worn pump bearing letting the motor overspin under light load, a failed internal thermal cutout, or a marginal supply connection causing voltage sag under load are the common causes.
