Air System Switching Valve Stuck

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2440 (AIR System Switching Valve Stuck Open Bank 1) sets when the ECM commands the secondary air injection switching valve open or closed and feedback shows it did not move, distinct from a wiring fault in the valve's control circuit. A valve stuck open lets exhaust gas flow backward into the AIR pump and hoses when the system should be idle, while one stuck closed prevents any air injection during the cold-start cycle; corrosion and carbon deposits from exhaust exposure are the common causes.

These 4 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 4 times.
