Alt Fuel Leak Detection

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2A40 (Alternative Fuel System - Injector Leakage to Rail Detected) sets when the ECM's alternative-fuel leak-detection routine finds pressure decaying faster than expected in the high-pressure supply system, or detects fuel leaking past an injector and into the fuel rail return path. Because CNG/LPG leaks are a safety concern, the ECM treats this as a priority fault. Common causes are a loose high-pressure fitting, a degraded O-ring at a quick-connect coupling, or an injector with a worn seat allowing fuel past its seal.

These 2 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 2 times.
