Auto Manual Shift Mode Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0949 (Auto Shift Manual Adaptive Learning Not Complete) sets when the TCM sees an open, shorted, or implausible signal from the driver-selectable auto/manual shift-mode gate or paddle switch, or determines the adaptive relearn for manual-shift mode has not completed. Causes are worn switch/gate contacts, a chafed clockspring connection, or an interrupted relearn drive cycle.

These 11 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 11 times.
