BISG Belt Tensioner Control

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2CF9 (Belt Integrated Starter Generator Belt Tensioner Control Circuit/Open) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit, out-of-range voltage, or a performance fault while driving the automatic belt tensioner that keeps proper tension on a belt-integrated starter/generator's drive belt through both motoring and generating events. Causes are a failed tensioner actuator, a seized tensioner pivot from corrosion, or damaged control wiring at the tensioner connector.

These 3 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 3 times.
