Brake Accel Pedal Incompatible
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
P2299 (Brake Pedal Position/Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible) sets when the ECM sees the brake pedal and accelerator pedal applied simultaneously in a pattern that fails its plausibility check, a condition it treats as a possible stuck throttle or faulty pedal sensor and answers by cutting engine torque. Genuine two-foot driving can set it, but the recurring hardware causes are a misadjusted brake light switch signaling brake-on continuously and an accelerator pedal sensor sticking or reading high at rest.
These 1 diagnostic trouble codes share one
detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single
authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 1 times.
