Charging Stop Start Switch Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2D79 (Charging Stop Switch Circuit) covers the dash or charge-port switch the driver uses to manually stop or start a charge session, along with its performance and intermittent checks. The ECM flags an open, shorted, out-of-range, performance, or intermittent signal from either switch. Causes are a worn or stuck switch contact, a corroded connector at the switch, or chafed wiring in the console or charge-port harness run.

These 10 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 10 times.
