Cylinder Intake Valve Lift Performance

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2DEA (Cylinder 1 Intake Valve Lift Range/Performance) sets when a cylinder's intake valve does not reach its commanded lift profile (high or low lift, or fully deactivated), reported per cylinder, per bank, or as a system-wide check on engines with switchable valve lift. Aerated or degraded engine oil that cannot build the switching pressure a hydraulic lifter or rocker needs, a stuck lifter/rocker pin, or a failed lift-control solenoid on the affected cylinder or bank are the common causes.

These 9 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 9 times.
