Drive Motor Position Learning Limit
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0C4E sets when the drive motor position sensor learning routine cannot complete successfully — the learned offset needed to correlate the resolver's electrical angle with the motor's mechanical rotor position exceeds the allowed limit. The most common physical causes are a resolver that shifted position during a prior service procedure, a marginal resolver excitation signal, and running the learn procedure without meeting the manufacturer's required preconditions.
These 2 diagnostic trouble codes share one
detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single
authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 2 times.
