Engine Cooling Fan Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0480 (Fan 1 Control Circuit) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit, a rationality mismatch against expected fan speed, excessive current draw, an over/underspeed condition, or a power/ground fault while driving one of the engine cooling fans. Causes are a seized or failing fan motor, a failed fan control module or relay, a blown fuse, or corroded/chafed power, ground, or control wiring.

These 18 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 18 times.
