Engine Sound Control Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P26DB (Engine Sound Control A Circuit/Open) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit, a short, or a performance fault while driving an engine sound control actuator (A or B), either an active exhaust/intake sound valve or a sound-symposer diaphragm that shapes induction noise into the cabin. Causes are a sound valve stuck from exhaust corrosion, a torn symposer diaphragm, a failed actuator motor, or damaged control wiring.

These 8 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 8 times.
