Exhaust Backpressure Condition

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P28F7 (Exhaust Pressure Too High Bank 1) sets when measured exhaust backpressure on the named bank is genuinely above or below the window expected for current engine load, rather than a pressure-sensor circuit fault. High pressure points to a restricted catalyst, DPF, or muffler or a stuck-closed exhaust valve/flap, while low pressure suggests an exhaust leak ahead of the sensor or a rotted-out restriction element letting gas bypass.

These 4 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 4 times.
