Exhaust Brake Input Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P04D3 (Exhaust Brake Input Circuit) sets when the ECM detects an open, shorted, out-of-range, or implausible signal from the driver-operated exhaust brake request switch used on diesel platforms to engage engine/exhaust braking. Causes are a failed or worn switch, a corroded connector, or chafed wiring between the switch and the ECM.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
