Fuel Cap Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2408 (Fuel Cap Sensor/Switch Circuit) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, or out-of-range signal from the switch built into the fuel filler cap that confirms the cap is threaded down tight enough to hold EVAP system vacuum. A cracked cap seal that no longer closes the internal contact, corrosion on the cap's mating pins, and a chafed wire in the fuel-door harness are the usual physical causes.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
