Fault Family System: Powertrain (P-Codes) 4 SAE Codes

Fuel Control System A Lean Rich

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2BEC (Fuel Control System A Too Lean Bank 1) sets when the primary closed-loop fuel trim system (System A, on the named bank) hits its lean or rich correction limit trying to hold the target air-fuel ratio. Unmetered air entering downstream of the MAF/MAP sensor or low fuel pressure drives the trim lean, while a leaking injector, excessive fuel pressure, or a biased upstream oxygen sensor drives it rich.

These 4 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 4 times.
