Fuel Level Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0460 (Fuel Level Sensor A Circuit) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, or implausible resistance from the fuel level sending unit (Sensor A on single- or primary-sender platforms) used for the fuel gauge and to gate certain fuel-related monitors. Causes are a corroded connector at the tank-top module, a worn resistive track or float arm inside the sending unit, or chafed wiring between the sender and the ECM/gauge cluster.

These 7 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 7 times.
