Code P0005 (Fuel Shutoff Valve A Control Circuit/Open) indicates the ECM detected an open circuit or out-of-range voltage while driving the fuel shutoff (engine stop) solenoid that cuts fuel delivery when the key is turned off or a safety shutdown is commanded. Typical causes are a failed shutoff solenoid coil, a corroded connector at the injection pump, or an open driver circuit between the ECM and the solenoid.
