Code P2E00 (Gear Lever Position Sensor A Circuit) covers one of four redundant position-sensor channels (A, B, C, or D) built into a shift-by-wire gear lever assembly, used to cross-check the driver's shift intent before the ECM engages a gear. The ECM flags an open, shorted, or implausible signal on the named channel. Causes are a worn contact track inside the shifter assembly, a lost calibration after battery disconnect or shifter service, or a corroded connector at the console harness.
