Code P0383 (Glow Plug Control Module 1 Control Circuit Low) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit or out-of-range voltage on the command line it uses to drive the glow plug control module (GPCM) itself, rather than a fault in an individual glow plug. Causes are a failed GPCM driver output, a corroded or unseated connector at the module, or chafed wiring between the ECM and the module's control input.
