HV Battery Pack Air Temp Sensor

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0AAC sets when the control module detects an implausible reading from the sensor measuring cooling-air temperature entering the HV battery pack's air-cooled duct — the value disagrees with cabin/ambient temperature or the blower's commanded speed. Because this sensor sits in open airflow rather than potted against a cell or coolant line, its most common failure modes are dust or debris coating the sensing element inside the duct, a loose or disconnected duct segment letting unconditioned air bypass the sensor, and a corroded connector at the duct-mounted housing. A clogged cabin-air or pack-inlet filter restricting blower flow can also produce a plausible-looking but incorrect reading without any sensor fault.

These 10 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 10 times.
