Code P2D38 (Hybrid/EV Battery Pack Heater Performance) sets when the HV battery pack's internal heater is not raising pack temperature at the rate the battery management system expects in cold weather, hurting cold-weather range and charge acceptance. Causes are a partially failed heater element, a restricted coolant/heat-transfer path between the heater and the cells, or a control circuit fault limiting heater duty cycle.
