Hybrid Engine Start Crank Failure
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0A0F sets when the hybrid control module requests the hybrid engine start/crank request system to bring the engine online and the engine does not reach running/cranking speed within the expected time. The most common physical causes are a starter-generator or belt-alternator-starter fault, a marginal 12V accessory battery unable to support the crank request, and an HV interlock or contactor fault inhibiting the hybrid system from assisting the start.
These 2 diagnostic trouble codes share one
detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single
authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 2 times.
