Ignition Switch Position Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2530 (Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit) sets when the ECM/BCM sees an open, shorted, or out-of-range signal from one of the ignition switch's discrete Run, Start/On, or Accessory position contacts, including a secondary auxiliary switch used on some commercial chassis. Causes are worn switch contacts inside the ignition cylinder or column module, a corroded connector, or chafed wiring in the steering column harness.

These 12 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 12 times.
