Intake Air Leak Restriction

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2279 (Intake Air System Leak Bank 1) sets when the ECM's airflow model localizes a leak or restriction to a specific zone of the intake tract — between the air filter and MAF sensor, between the MAF and throttle body, or downstream of the throttle plate — by comparing MAF, MAP, and throttle data. A split or dislodged intake boot, a clamp loosened during prior service, a collapsed or clogged air filter, and a cracked intake manifold or leaking manifold gasket are the physical causes, each pointing to the zone the code names.

These 6 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 6 times.
