Lost Comm Lighting Module

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
U0180 covers loss of contact with an exterior lighting network node -- headlamp leveling, adaptive lighting driver modules, or a front/rear lighting control module mounted inside or near a lamp assembly. These modules live outside the cabin's weather protection, directly exposed to road spray, temperature swings from the bulb or LED heat sink, and vibration transmitted through the fascia, so a failed weatherproof seal at the lamp connector is the most common cause of intermittent or lost communication in this class.

These 14 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 14 times.
