Fault Family System: Powertrain (P-Codes) 5 SAE Codes

MAP Sensor B Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2A0A (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor B Circuit) covers the secondary manifold absolute pressure sensor (Sensor B), used on twin-turbo, sequential-boost, or dual-plenum intake designs where a single MAP sensor cannot represent both halves of the intake. The ECM flags an open circuit, an out-of-range voltage, or an implausible reading against Sensor A or throttle position. Causes are a corroded connector, a contaminated or failed sensor element, or chafed wiring between the sensor and ECM.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
