Neutral Position Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P086A (Neutral Position Sensor A Circuit/Open) sets when the TCM sees an open, shorted, or implausible signal from a neutral-position sensor on an automated manual/dual-clutch transmission, a mismatch between redundant A/B sensors, or a zero point that has not been learned. Causes are sensor wear, a lost calibration after service, or chafed wiring at the transmission case.

These 13 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 13 times.
