Power Steering Pressure Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0550 (Power Steering Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, or implausible signal from the power steering pressure sensor/switch used to add idle load compensation during parking maneuvers. Causes are a failed sensor/switch, power steering fluid contamination fouling the sensor port, or chafed wiring near the steering rack/pump.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
