PTO Speed Selector Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P254A (PTO Speed Selector Sensor/Switch 1 Circuit/Open) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, implausible, or intermittent signal from one of the driver's PTO speed-selector switches (position 1 or 2) used to preset an engine RPM for stationary power-take-off operation. Causes are worn selector switch contacts, a corroded connector in the cab console, or chafed wiring to the ECM.

These 10 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 10 times.
