Code P2645 (A Rocker Arm Actuator Control Circuit/Open Bank 1) sets when the ECM detects an open circuit, out-of-range voltage, or a stuck-on/stuck-off performance condition while driving a rocker arm actuator (A or B, either bank), the oil-pressure solenoid that switches rocker arms between high/low lift profiles or collapses them for cylinder deactivation. Causes are a failed actuator solenoid coil, aerated or degraded engine oil preventing clean switching pressure, a clogged oil control screen at the solenoid, or damaged control wiring.
