Shift Timing Solenoid Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0785 (Shift Timing Solenoid A) sets when the TCM detects an open circuit, out-of-range voltage, or an implausible signal while driving a shift-timing solenoid, a component distinct from the gear-selecting shift solenoids that instead fine-tunes shift overlap/timing for smoothness. Causes are a failed solenoid coil, debris jamming the solenoid, or damaged control wiring.

These 10 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 10 times.
