Starter Generator Phase Current Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2D92 (Starter/Generator Phase X Current Sensor Circuit High) covers the individual phase-current sensors (X, Y, Z, and on six-phase units U, V, W) and the field excitation current circuit on a belt- or crank-mounted starter/generator, flagging a circuit fault, an out-of-range reading, an intermittent signal, or a correlation mismatch between phases or the unit's own position sensor. Because this unit alternates between motoring (engine start/torque assist) and generating, the most common causes are a corroded phase-lead connector at the unit's power terminal block, a damaged current sensor from vibration, or chafed signal wiring near the belt-drive area.

These 24 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 24 times.
