Timing Reference Signal Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0370 (Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A) sets when the ECM's high-resolution timing reference channel — a secondary, finer-toothed crank or cam reluctor signal used for precision injection/ignition timing on modern engines — reports too many, too few, no pulses, or an erratic pulse pattern. Causes are a damaged or debris-fouled high-resolution tone ring, an incorrectly set sensor air gap, or a chafed/corroded sensor circuit distinct from the primary low-resolution crank/cam sensor.

These 10 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 10 times.
