Torque Management Request Signal

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2544 (Torque Management Request Input Signal A) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, out-of-range, or intermittent signal on one of the discrete torque-request input lines (A or B), or on the corresponding output feedback line, used between the ECM and a separate transmission, retarder, or auxiliary-equipment controller to arbitrate how much engine torque is available. Causes are a corroded connector between the two modules, damaged inter-module wiring, or a fault in the requesting controller itself.

These 17 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 17 times.
