Transmission Range Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0705 (Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit (PRNDL Input)) sets when the TCM sees an open, shorted, or implausible signal from the transmission range sensor that reports gear-selector position (Park/Reverse/Neutral/Drive/Low) to the ECM/TCM. Causes are a maladjusted or worn range sensor at the shift shaft, transmission fluid contamination fouling the sensor, or chafed wiring at the connector on the transmission case.

These 14 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 14 times.
