Code C0030 (Left Front Tone Wheel) sets when a wheel speed sensor's electrical circuit tests normal but the signal it produces is implausible, erratic, or absent -- pointing at the toothed tone ring (reluctor) the sensor reads or the mechanical air gap between them rather than the wiring or sensor coil itself. The most common causes are debris, rust flaking, or brake dust packed between the sensor tip and tone ring, a bent or corroded tone ring from a bearing that has developed play, or a wheel bearing with enough wear to let the hub wobble and open the air gap intermittently. Because this fault is mechanical, cleaning or replacing the wiring/sensor alone will not resolve it if the tone ring or bearing is the actual root cause.
