Code C05D7: Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) Control Circuit
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code C05D7 (Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) Control Circuit) sets when the module cannot drive or verify the brake-transmission shift interlock solenoid that mechanically locks the shifter in Park until the brake pedal is applied. Because the solenoid is a simple electromechanical lock rather than a sensor, the usual causes are an open or shorted solenoid coil, a corroded connector at the shifter assembly, or the interlock's own micro-switch failing to confirm brake application. A stuck-locked shifter after a battery jump-start or brake-light fuse failure is a very common real-world trigger for this code and is worth ruling out before replacing parts.
