System: Powertrain (P-Code)
SAE Standard (Generic)
Family: MAP Sensor Circuit
Code P0106: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0106 (Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance) sets when the ECM sees an open, shorted, or implausible voltage from the MAP/barometric pressure sensor circuit, or the reading is simply too low for the current altitude. Causes are a cracked or oil-fouled vacuum port, a failed sensor element, or damaged sensor wiring.
