Code P0297: Vehicle Overspeed Condition

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0297 (Vehicle Overspeed Condition) sets when engine RPM or vehicle speed exceeds the calibrated safe limit, most often from an aggressive downshift, a slipping clutch/torque converter allowing engine flare, or a stuck throttle. This is a real mechanical event flag rather than a sensor circuit fault.
