Engine Overspeed Condition

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0219 (Engine Overspeed Condition) sets when engine RPM or vehicle speed exceeds the calibrated safe limit, most often from an aggressive downshift, a slipping clutch/torque converter allowing engine flare, or a stuck throttle. This is a real mechanical event flag rather than a sensor circuit fault.

These 2 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 2 times.
