System: Powertrain (P-Code)
SAE Standard (Generic)
Family: AC Evaporator Temp Sensor Circuit
Code P0539: A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0539 (A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent) sets when the ECM/HVAC module sees an open, shorted, or implausible resistance from the A/C evaporator temperature sensor used to control compressor cycling and prevent evaporator icing. Causes are a corroded connector, a failed thermistor element, or chafed wiring routed through the HVAC housing.
