AC Evaporator Temp Sensor Circuit

Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P0535 (A/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit) sets when the ECM/HVAC module sees an open, shorted, or implausible resistance from the A/C evaporator temperature sensor used to control compressor cycling and prevent evaporator icing. Causes are a corroded connector, a failed thermistor element, or chafed wiring routed through the HVAC housing.

These 5 diagnostic trouble codes share one detection mechanism and one repair path, which is why MechanicDB groups them into a single authored fault family rather than repeating the same explanation 5 times.
