System: Powertrain (P-Code)
SAE Standard (Generic)
Family: ECM Power Input Signal
Code P2506: ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Range/Performance
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P2506 (ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Range/Performance) sets when the ECM's own internal monitor finds its main battery power input signal open, out of range, or intermittent, separate from the power relay control circuit that switches it. Causes are a corroded main power connector at the ECM, a blown fuse or fusible link, or chafed power-feed wiring between the battery/junction box and the module.
