Code P262B: Control Module Power Off Timer Performance
Diagnostic & Technical Explanation
Code P262B (Control Module Power Off Timer Performance) sets when the ECM's internal engine-off timer, used to judge cold-soak duration for EVAP leak testing and cold-start enrichment, disagrees with other time references such as the low-power clock or network time, or the module's power-off timer fails its rationality check. Causes are the ECM losing its keep-alive power between drives from a weak battery or corroded feed, or an internal timer circuit fault in the module itself.

This is the first procedure in the authored
consideration order, not a measured cause likelihood. Execute it only when its prerequisites
and diagnostic findings support it. Its cost and labor estimates (where known), the step-by-step procedure and the
remaining 2 procedure(s) are in the licensed dataset. Ordering context.
